What your child is REALLY learning

While they’re playing, your child is building the exact skills schools look for:

  • Recognising and creating patterns

  • Spotting similarities and differences

  • Early number sense (subitising)

  • Sorting, matching and grouping

  • Using maths language naturally

These are the foundations of confidence in maths before school.

How to use it

1. Colour & create
Let your child decorate their eggs and talk about the patterns they make.

2. Go on an egg hunt
Hide them and explore together:

  • “Can you find another one the same?”

  • “What pattern is this?”

3. Add a challenge

  • Order the eggs from 1-10 (or 1-5 for younger children)

  • Match pairs

  • Sort by pattern

  • Count and subitise dots
