About Jump Start Maths
Jump Start Maths helps children aged 2–5 build confidence, curiosity and school-ready skills through play, movement and early maths.
Created by qualified teachers, and mums, Emma and Chloe, every class is designed to make learning active, joyful and meaningful for both children and parents.
Together, they’re on a mission to show families and nurseries that maths isn’t about worksheets and worries, it’s about exploration, play and fun.
Our Philosophy – School Readiness Through Play
At Jump Start Maths, we believe children learn best when they’re active, joyful and curious. Our approach helps children feel confident, capable and ready for school.
A Love of Maths that Lasts
We help children see maths as joyful and exciting, not something to fear. Through play, movement and discovery, we build early maths confidence and a positive attitude that lasts.
Learning through Play
Children learn best when they’re having fun. Each class is packed with stories, games and hands-on activities that make maths meaningful.
Movement Matters
Physical development underpins early learning. Our classes use movement to strengthen both body and brain, building focus and school readiness.
Together with Families
We support parents too, sharing tips and ideas so learning through play continues long after the class ends.
Meet The Founders
Meet Emma
Emma is a mum of two and an experienced primary school teacher specialising in Early Years and Physical Education. Her passion for teaching began early, at just five years old, when she started “teaching” her little sister!
A self-confessed geek for early childhood development, Emma loves learning how children thrive through play and movement.
“I didn’t love maths at school, but when I began teaching I knew it needed to be fun and practical. Now, I want to spread the word that early maths can be joyful and playful. I’ve seen first-hand how these skills shape children’s future success.”
Meet Chloe
Children have always been at the heart of Chloe’s career. As both a teacher and a mum, she understands how important it is to help children feel confident and excited about learning.
She knows many parents worry about getting their little ones school-ready — wanting to help but not always knowing how.
“I love seeing that spark when a child understands something new. Maths doesn’t have to mean worksheets, when we make it active and playful, children learn without even realising it! And when parents feel confident too, it makes all the difference.”
Our Mission
Through Jump Start Maths, Emma and Chloe are helping families and nurseries build a love of maths and movement, boosting not just number sense, but confidence, school readiness and physical development too.
